Battery Valued Asset
Battery is the costliest infra asset at ATM Site.
It is the most critical component to energy security and Business continuity strategy.
However Batteries are not tested during commissioning or before Acceptance because of Logistic and implementation challenges.
Vendors offer 3 year warranty and Batteries are replaced every 3 years what-ever may be its health.
Why Replace Battery Every 3 Yrs ?
If Design Life of Battery is 10 years, service life expectancy is about 6 to 8 years, Why are battery bank as a whole replaced every 3 yrs.?
Can’t the Batteries be tested remotely for specified Backup & its Health before acceptance?
Monitoring Charging parameters and Health of Battery triggers proactive actions that can extend the Service life of Battery Bank and postpone its replacement by 2~3 yrs. (40% Reduction in Replacement cost . Improves Over all Break even by about 6 months or 9% improvement in IRR)
